The Needs List

Last fall, Dale responded to the question, "What are you building?"

"A life of power and empowerment. A life that creates environments for honesty and growth. A life that brings peace into the lives of those around me. A life of redemption and reconciliation. A life worthy of replication."

Dale's Life

Dale Wayne Kompik II, 31, of Grand Rapids, Michigan died December 19, 2017 after complications caused by pneumonia. His life was characterized by generosity, a passion for caring for others, and seeking after God.

He could often be found chatting with others about life, love, the Bible and theology in coffee shops around town, turning strangers into friends.

Dale was passionate about God's beautiful creation! He treasured his times with family and friends - camping, hiking, kayaking, singing, playing guitar, and playing with his dogs, Aimee and Lacey.

Dale was born May 8, 1986 in Lexington, Kentucky, the son of Dale and Barbara (Sothman) Kompik.

He graduated in 2004 from Ludington High School and went on to continue his education at Moody Bible Institute in Spokane, WA, graduating in 2014. Pentwater was Dale's home, but he loved living in Ludington, Spokane and Grand Rapids as well.

The Garden

In honor of Dale W. Kompik II, and in the spirit of celebrating his beautiful life, construction of a lovely community garden and spiritual respite will commence Spring 2019. The public will be welcome to stroll through vibrant perennials, annuals and rose bushes; rest by the Koi pond; relax in the comfort of Adirondack chairs and rockers; and wander down a path through the woods. Resting in the beauty of nature, a tiny roadside chapel and gazebo will invite visitors to experience peace, comfort, solitude and spiritual contemplation.

It is our pleasure to offer you an opportunity to contribute to this living, loving legacy of Dale W. Kompik II. All donations will go exclusively toward construction and maintenance.

Thank you for your kind support.
